A star that hangs on my front porch.
This blog contains pictures mainly from Troy, Bradford County, in Northcentral Pennsylvania. I hope you enjoy a look inside the beauty of rural Pennsylvania, as captured through the lens of my camera, The photography contained in this blog has been shot primarily with Canon dslr cameras. I currently have a Canon Digital 70D with a variety of Canon lenses. I also use a Fuji Finepix occasionally.

Good idea for sepia and I like it close up. To awnser Jeanne question, or to suggest an awnser. Lots of barns had stars on the sides of barns at the peak for decoration. I know my granpas barn had one.

When I toured an old building in Illinois they said the stars are actually "bolt ends" In order to ensure the strength of the structure they used to run iron rods or bolts through the walls and cap them with the decorative star cap. So they were functional at one time. Today they are just decorative and your looks sweet. Hope you can stop by to see my sepia scene and window view Thanks!
