Troy Town Cruisers 8/7/2012

The Troy Town Cruisers welcome all cars from 5-8 in the First Citizens Bank parking lot in the center of town. This evening saw about 71 cars, give or take a few! There were old cars, trucks, a lot of mustangs, and a few brand-spanking new vehicles! This was my first time taking pictures of cars, and one thing I learned is how hard it is! Between the sun blazing, to setting quickly, it was difficult to get a well-exposed shot. The people were friendly, and some thought I was taking pictures for some big car magazine! I had to explain my rookie status with this type of photography, and assure them that the photos were really just for me!

I have to admit, the aqua car is my favorite! I really wanted to climb in and sit on those aqua and white seats! It was so much fun to photograph these cars, and now that I have a taste of it, I surely want to try again!

Avalon Pier

The Avalon Pier is one of several piers in the Outer Banks. It can be found in Kill Devil Hills, NC. The pier is home to an arcade, and is used daily by numerous fishermen who dangle their lines off the pier into the Atlantic Ocean. It is a gathering place for young and old, and offers great photographic opportunities. This is the last in my series of photographs that were inspired by my photo workshop taught by Dan Waters of Outer Banks Photo Workshops.

More pictures of the OBX can be found in my google + album.

Moonshine over the Ocean

In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine

Can't you just feel the moonshine
Ain't it just like a friend of mine

To hit me from behind
Yes I'm goin' to Carolina in my mind

She Sells Sea Shells....

These are some more photographs from my Photo Workshop at the Outer Banks, with Dan Waters. He had a bag of tricks with some props inside to help "create" a photograph.

Outer Banks Photo Workshop

I was lucky enough to take a photography workshop when I was at the Outer Banks early one morning. The workshop was taught by Dan Waters of http://obxphotoworkshops.com/. I have a marvelous time and learned some really cool things about my camera, composing photographs, and getting the proper exposure. Here are a couple of photographs that I took during that workshop. I hope to get more posted as soon as I can get over my Photoshop phobia and edit them a little. You can also view more of Dan's photography at sceneinadifferentlight.com. Enjoy!
